As the Varius chair was about to reach its 25th birthday, the possibility occurred to me of designing a more affordable and versatile version that would inherit some of its virtues; above all the ergonomics (which make the Varius a very comfortable chair) and its characteristic backrest (much more beautiful than the numerous weak imitations). Strengthened by these virtues which I was not willing to give up, I was able to design a family of chairs which includes: an armless chair, a light armchair, a light swivel armchair, a high stool and row seating. All four-legged chairs are infinitely stackable in very little space. The shells of the chairs can be made of wood or in plastic. The gas injection of the plastic ones was a challenge which, once overcome, made it possible to avoid all the ribs both in the backrest and under the seat.
